Power outage planned near Ely area
Grand Rapids, MN –Lake Country Power members in the Ely area will be without power starting 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 18. The cooperative will be working on the Winton Substation to improve future reliability.
The outage will last about one-and-a-half hours and will affect members north of Ely along the Echo Trail to Fenske Lake and Burntside Lake; east of Ely along the Fernberg Road to Moose Lake and Snowbank Lake; and south of Ely along highway 21 to One Pine Lake. Members on White Iron Lake and the Kawishiwi River will also be affected.
Power for the 1,700 members affected by the outage is expected to be restored about 11:00 a.m.
