Volunteers needed for state park clean-up
Grand Rapids, MN – Lake Country Power is calling on co-op members and community organizations to volunteer for its annual Project GreenTouch. The state park clean-up day will be held at McCarthy Beach State Park, Side Lake on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., weather permitting.
GreenTouch is a volunteer event at Minnesota’s state parks to help clear hiking trails, rake leaves and pine needles, and pick up litter.
With more than 8.1 million visitors using Minnesota’s state parks each year, GreenTouch is a timely event held the first Saturday of May each year to prepare the parks for the summer season.
If you would like to participate in GreenTouch, please contact Tami Zaun at Lake Country Power by dialing 1-800-421-9959, extension 7152. Clubs are welcome at GreenTouch, such as the Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts and 4-H clubs, etc.
